This section of the project involves getting a very secure attachment platform for the tower legs. The forward legs fall in an area that has no access to install a backing support. The aft legs could be backed from under the overhang, but I decided rather to imbed a pair of 3/8" aluminum plates into the house top. When the tower is fitted, after painting is completed, the holes will be drilled and tapped.

Layup schedule and process for bedding 3/8" aluminum plates for at tower legs:
1. Epoxy bed aluminum plate, 18 hr cure
2. Grind away all excess epoxy back to fiberglass
3. Prime all surfaces with polyester
4. Build in core matrial of polyester and vermiculite, (1/2 hour cure)
5. Skim coat with polyester, Cabosil, and microballons, (1/2 hr cure)
6. Scrape high points of skim
7. First stage of glassing: (2 hour cure)
1 layer veil
1 layer 1 1/2 oz chopped strand mat
1 layer 24 oz 0/90º roving
1 layer 1 1/2 oz chopped strand mat
1 layer 24 oz 0/90º roving
1 layer 1 1/2 oz chopped strand mat
8. Grind excess glass
9. Second stage of glassing: (2 hour cure)
1 layer veil
3 layers 1 1/2 oz chopped strand mat
10. Grind and sand excess glass
11. Awlgrip prime w/ 545 epoxy primer after glass has cured for 72 hours
12. Sand and Fair w/ Awlfair after 12 hour primer cure
