1961 31' Bertram Sportfish w/300hp Cummins

• Completely rebuilt from the hull up in 1989. The lower steering station, V-birth toilet, cabin sink, ice box, and 40 gallon water tank under the cabin floor were replaced with a standup head, a 12V/110A refrigerator next to a series of cabinet drawers, an 80 gallon stainless steel fuel tank in the cabin sole, a 260 gallon stainless steel fuel tank under the center of the cockpit, and a four scoop custom built bait tank mounted in the forward center of the cockpit. 250 hp twin Cummins diesels were also installed.
• Through co-operation between the owner and Cummins, in the early1990s twin 300 hp Cummins diesel engines 6BTA 5.9 M-2 turbo charged with aftercoolers were installed. In the 2000s both engines were completely torn down and rebuilt with new long blocks from Cummins. The port engine now has 2000 hours and the starboard now has 500 hours.
• The transmissions are Twin Disc model MG-506-1 with a 1.5 to 1 angle. The boat also has a 4.5KW generator with a Kubota diesel engine model ZB 600 C-1-B.
• New Jabsco Quiet Flush Model 37245 toilet. 3.6 cubic foot Norcold AC/DC refrigerator with small freezer.
• Hydraulic steering with Com-Nav 1420 autopilot.
• Hardtop stainless steel tuna tower with bridge instrument box. Bridge is enclosed in Eisenglass with a custom made 12" acrylic venturi windshield to deflect wind and spray. Top level of tower has halogen and 2 other spotlights plus a captains chair for observation and a thrilling ride.
• Cockpit is padded with 7 rod holders in the gunwales and LED deck lights. A combination bait/kill bag is plumbed and hangs over stern above swim step (port).
• Two 18' Precision Outriggers with 3 position maximizers
• Handmade teak bow plank with high railing for fish fighting. Lewmar Pro-fish 700 anchor wench operated from bridge with 22lb. Delta anchor and 70' of 1/4" chain and 220' of ½" line.
• Icom M-502 VHF (DSC); Uniden Oceanus VHF (DSC); with remote WHAM microphone; Standard Horizon Intrepid VHF (DSC); Icom 800/AT 120 Single Side Band radio. All with antenna and extenders. 2 external VHF speakers in bridge instrument box.
• Sitex TIN 24 mile radar; Apelco 6" XVC 8100 color finder; Sitex CVS 210 color combo depth/fishfinder; Rapidfix 406 GPS Interface EPIRB; Garmin 152 GPS wired with Tactronics 12" daylight readable screen (used by Navy SEALS) with both connected to a computer below running a Maptech Navagator program for chart plotting; Ritchie 4" compass.
• VDO gauges (temp, oil pressure, trans. pressure, and batteries) on bridge plus pyrometer gauge for each engine.
• 4 Group 27 marine 12V batteries wired to master switch panel all charged by 40 amp Advanced Electronic fully automatic 4-stage charger (Protech 1240iPlus). 1 Sea-
Gel sealed battery (isolated) on bridge for radios.
• 3 Racor fuel filters (in addition to stock engine filters), a blower and an auxiliary fuel pump for each engine; three large Rule bilge pumps; Oberdorfer fuel transfer pump from bow to cockpit fuel tanks; bait tank and bait bag and wash down pumps; 2 fire extinguishers and a CO2 system.
• 11/2" stainless steel shafts to 2 Nibral 3 bladed 19" x 23" propellers. Boat has a second set of props.
• Full canvas. Rod racks for 11 in cabin and 8 in V-birth. 26 rod holders on bridge and tower ladders and 5 on the bait tank. V-birth configured to be full sleeping platform for 3 with sleeping space for 2 more by converting the cabin table.
