Good source for boat stands?

Post by Buju »

Did the usual google search with some good results...
but I'm thinking you guys may know of a better place to order some stands for the B20 and B25.
I don't know what the world may want,
But a good stiff drink it surely dont,
Think I'll go and fix myself...a tall one.

there is a neighboorhood marine supply store next door to me, they had stands in there for less then $80-$90.

My point? Try some local places so that you save on the shipping.

Very kind of you Mark, and the Brownells are real nice too. But I need to get some to call my own so I can use and abuse them as I see fit.

Yeah I know Robbie, the shipping will be a bitch. No one sells 'em around here. I've checked all the boatyards in the upper keys. I'm sure I could find 'em in Miami or Lauderdale, but at that point I may as well order the things.

Thinking of going w/ these guys:

Mark,
Just an idea I'm toying with, is to buy some Acro (Acrow?) props and make my own.
There as cheap as chips on e bay, unlike "proper" boat stands or anything
else that says Marine on the box.

places dont normally stock them, but I know I can order them and have them the next day from my suppliers.

I guess if you have asked and no one wants to bother then you have no choice, I believe you can order direct from brownells
they just slap a shipping label right on the stand and ship UPS so at least they dont charge you a crate charge

Mark,

Another alternative is to order just the screw and wing nut with the angle iron installed and then roll your own from local steel supply. Even if you don't weld yourself, there's probably a bunch of other Conchs that will do it for you. You can pre-cut your 1 1/2" pipe and angle iron and then have the welder assemble them... Order either directly from Brownell or Hostra...

The freight for the basic hardware would be fairly light because they'll ship UPS Ground or FedEx Home Delivery.

Thanks guys... all good advice.

Think I'll do what the Capt. recommended, there are three welders less than a mile from me, and the screw/pad assembly is substantially less coin than the whole shebang...
