Console Bubble
The bridge Console Bubble, housing single lever controls is one of the most striking elements of Jerry Wells' design work. One of the few faults in the stock Bertram 31 design is the small rudders. At slow speed, especially one just one engine, there just isn't enough rudder surface to generate tighter turns. Even worse, if you're trying to get home on one engine, steering a straight line is very difficult indeed.
These custom fabricated Stainless Steel rudders solve the problem, while still retaining a high speed performance standard. (More...)
Side Window Kit
Fiberglass window molding kit to replace the aluminum side window frames.
In my continuing quest to eliminate all aluminum from the B31, I have developed a fairly simple revel system that can be installed in lieu of the side window frames, (window glass not included).
This treatment was first done on Jerry Well's B31, "Fortuna" in '95, but was glassed in directly on the boat, making the process more time consuming. By making up the basic stock in the shop, all of the really hard and messy work has been eliminated.
