Got Her Wet!!!!!

Post by Bob H. »

After seven and half long years, Resolute slipped in for the first time...Took a two week vacation and got to run her everyday, got 33 hours run up on the clock so far.
Had a few bugs to get worked out, dipstick marked wrong, pumped down each engine and put 13 quarts back in each engines, gear cooler had a crack in it, repitched props, got 3050 loaded, readjusted throttle cables, today the tower went on, she runs like she is on rails, no problems with rudder placement Capt Pats rudders keep her planted, next stop Greenport..People ask what kind of boat IS that? Congratulations Bob, great job on the boat. I'm at the 6 year mark on the 25 you are inspiring me to press on! I know it must feel good for the boat to be floating and running under her own power. How are you liking that cabin you built. Looks very roomy, functional and dry to me!

All that fairing and hard work paid off, she's beautiful.

Bob,
You should be real proud. She looks AWSOME !!! I wish I could make Greenport this year she looks amazing. I still can't believe last year this time you still didn't have the cabin laid out. You are a true craftsman to get that much done in such a short time of a year. Enjoy and get her bloody.

Bob H,
Dave (Hueso) in PR said he counted 18 rod holders, I count 22 who's correct?
If the center of the transom covering board is a rod holder not a flag staff holder, Then there is 23 total holders.

Bob-
Bravo!
I am of the opinion that boats are never done, but a wise owner knows when to go to sea, so congratulations on this milestone. Enjoy Resolute's transition from project to platform and object to friend. Do tell us the dry details of waterlines and performance and efficiency but include the sounds and sensations of integrity afloat.
I very much regret not being there to see your arrival in Greenport. I will be even more disappointed if you do not have an empty Patron bottle to exchange with the full one I will bring at my next visit. Perhaps the Bertram Brothers will assist you here.
Kind regards,
Stephan

We were out in Greeport today. I've got a lot to say but for now I just want to say that I not only got to ride in Bobs boat but he allowed me to take the helm for a few minutes. It was the thrill of a lifetime ten grown men with shit eatin grins from ear to ear acting like teenagers!

She's as beautiful and well-built in person as she looks. Stopped by Greenport briefly. Wish I had more time and could've stayed for dinner, but had family obligations. Bob Lico's tour of his boat was a great also, and Giff's Shearwater is pretty sweet.

A great day indeed running her down to Greenport with Harry Babb, letting those Cummins push us along at 24 knots just loafing along, jumping waves learning how to trim her down to get the ride just right. Round trip totaled about 170 miles got 47 hours run up on the clocks so far and I am one happy guy, Resolute just shoulders its way through waves....built like a tank...the rod holder total is 31 counting the eight in the chair..a fitting number indeed..BH
