Corrosion X

I just picked up a used Scout 172 SF as a small upgrade to my whaler. It has a 115 yamaha 2 stroke on the back that looks brand new. It's a 1998 engine that has never been stored in the water and only run here on the Potomac. Should I use the Corrosion X on the engine to keep it looking good? Do you spray everything under the cowling, including wiring? How often do you re-apply?

Has anyone tried the RejeX product to treat/protect gel coat? The gel coat on this boat needs some love. If I put the effort into cleaning it up, I'd like it to stay that way for a while!

cam I soak a cloth with corrosion x
every oil change 100 hrs I wipe the engines down
some people cut it with I think lacquer thinner I think that's what they use
iam sure some else will chime in
ps after I use the cloth I seal it in a baggie for the next time
sorta like a silicone rag for guns

All the metal stuff yes. I do not recommend hitting wiring, hoses or anything else that is rubber like the belt.

I use it on 5 outboards. Great on all wiring, hoses, metal, paint, gaskets, plastic. Do not put it on friction dependant belts or starters. Tried that, creates problems.
