Is a 130 class fighting chair to large for the B31? thanks Russ

I have the scoponich light weight chair which is unlimited class.

What makes it functional is the foot rest slides up into the chair but doesn't stick out the back.

The width of any of the chairs isn't going to be a problem. The difficult part is when the foot rest is in place you have limited space at the transom. Removing or retracting the footrest gives you the space. The bigger chairs tend to have large arms on the footrest.

Russ- I have a 130 class Tournament on my 31. The legs are kept in the shortest position to keep the stern wide open but even fully extended when fighting a big fish it swings 180 degrees with no problem. Could go 360 degrees but I have never done it. I love it.

I have a nauticaldesigns FFC130 http://www.nauticaldesigninc.com/fight.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I bought it because it was the tighest turning chair with legs on. My wife is short and had problems with larger 130 chairs. Have had it 10 years love it. Hope to get down and see you boat this spring.

If your not fishing for giant blue fin or marlin I would install a smaller chair. I had a Pompenette RM chair with teak ladder back, 4 striking gimbles and a teal foot rest, it was bolted to an H frame under the cockpit sole which was thru bolted to the deck supports 4" pedestal, caught a bunch of giants and never had a problem. Now I've got a 5 rod holder rocket launcher with a higher pedestal section, it can also take a round table for the cockpit for howdy boating. No need for the big chair is taken apart in my garage.

Walter,

I did NOT take UV's advise and did run for Carteret County Commissioner. Vic even contributed some "short" money for the campaign (as did Russ). In the end, I won. As Vic said, "you'll be sorry for this one day". He's probably right but we'll take it a day at a time. Right now I'm enthusiastic. Hope I don't get beat down by the system too soon.

This is my 24' Skip jack with a modified 130 class i rebuilt that the seat was glass over plywood that rotted so i use aluminum now it's a 230 class lol
