Ask high...you can always bring the price down.
The completing touch on Dads last boat was a "For Sale" sign. He didn't really want to get rid of it as he didn't have the money to buy the boat he wanted...but figured if someone offered him that much money...he'd let it go. Sure as hell, a year later someone offered him his asking price and that boat was gone...bought the Hatteras shortly thereafter.
Besides...you see what a new Clorox boat goes for these days...at 230 its a bargain!

Very cool, unique layout that's well thought out.
Just think if your going to that level of customization you have to realize the likelihood of recouping the investment is low.
At the same time I've seen some new boats that are more money and not half the boat.

Wow....that's a awful lot of boat & good looking iron for the money - puts a totally different value on most of our boats I'm afraid. I have room at my dock for her behind AJ....is it time for ole UV to double down? I could make it to the Prop Stop in 9 minutes vs. 13....the ZF220s are getting close to their limits tho at 370 hp.
Anyone familliar with the boat. Soony Middleton's Dog River Marine is about the most expensive place around here to get anything done, so bet he has 250+ sunk in it.
Assuming the iron checks out, this is a tremendous bargain for under 100.

I'd be happy to keep an eye on her, and make sure the fuel gets run through the lines (just to make sure she doesn't get clogged) and keep the bottom clean.

There are about 100 31s listed on yacht world. Many of them are north of $120k they range from total refit to an original boat with nice gas motors. Then there are boats between 50k and 100k that again range from total refit diesels to less then desirable gas boats. It doesn't seem to make much sense.
Both the realistic and optimistic are sitting unsold. There are a few bahias in the 50-60k range with great diesels and cosmetic gems. Makes me think twice about going much beyond maintenance on my ole boat.
Of course plenty under 50k that range from laughable to good good deals.

Yep Pete, the market for all boats is real soft due to George W. Bush's economic depression caused by not taxing the rich enough.
I have followed the "asking" and "actual" prices of B31s for years and right now I'd say the "actuals" are down about 50% from what they were 4 or 5 years ago. No question a repower to diesel from gas is economic madness....assuming you can by the Destin boat in the mid 90s (and of course, like the layout for your needs) it would be impossible to justify any sort of repower & remodel vs. buying one already done. Buyer's market.
Charlie, I'll sell her for you on consignement, got more room at my dock, put a 'for sale cheap' sign up and you never know.

Tom - twin Vulva TAMD 30 DPs - little 4 cyl. turbos with the duo prop outdrives. 20 kt. cruise, huge range with original 113 gallon tank. Maintaince nightmare with shit falling off the motors all the time and with them jammed up so tight. Had a full tower on her and probably caught 100 billfish off her over the years. Last I heard Hurricane Katrina ate her.
The diesel motors were way too heavy for the boat and cost 20K in 1984. I put Doel-Fins on the drives and that help a good bit, but at rest the cockpit drains were under, way under so it was a self-sinking boat. Da Judge put the 4 cyl. Mercruisers in his with the Alpha One drives and it runs great, kept up with my 31 with the Cummins all day long burning less fuel. On te 110 n.m. run from my camp to Venice I'd burn 83 gallons at 24 kts. and he'd do 54 gallons following in my wake. That's what I'd go with on a repower from the 165s.
