OT- project boat opp

Post by Buju »

Came across this, and thought it was potentially a great opportunity for someone to own a little Rybovich. It's obviously been neglected and who knows what else, but damn...might be worth a look. Anyone know any history on this one? Marlin?

Like usual, all I'm missing is a big enough balance in the checking account. Diamond in the rough. Oh yeah, checking account to purchase plus 400-500% at least. ha.

Buju I have decided you are evil.

Neat old boat. The 3208s are naturals, something like 210hp, maybe as high as 260hp so I doubt that beast could clear 15kts. Good part is they can see 20,000 hours with decent care, so if they run they probaly always will..lol.

Aren't the Rybovich boats cold molded? Basically a glass covered wooden boat?

Yeah they're cold molded.
Mahogany frames/stringers, ply bulkheads, mahogany planks on the hull- double layer of planks on the hullsides, triple planked below the chine.

It's a 38 supposedly. spoke with the current owner. used to be his grandpa's. Doesn't sound like the grandson is much of a boat person.

anyone in the area that can swing by and take a lookee? :-D

I was hoping I could help you out this weekend, but no dice. Not gonna be around... I'd personally look into a surveyor for this one.
