Please look at PDF "Important News for Boat Owners" found at EthanolRFA.org. One interesting point is that "general epoxy or polyester resin based materials used in the late1970's and earlier 1980's are not compatible with gasoline/ethanol blends." These tests apparently were done on underground tanks, but before the 1970's gas shortage, I know Bertram built a different boat with different fiberglass. It was heavier and perhaps a different formula.
Is it possible that older boats and newer boats may be less affected?
