Thru Hulls & Bonding Strips

Post by redcat20 »

Have a 1970 24' Baron been working on getting into shape for launch next week.
Was in the bilge today, inserting the drain plug and noticed the drain thru-hull had a wire that was not connected. Same thing for another thru-hull.
On looking, spotted a terminal that was coming from the very spine of the boat. I suspect this is the bonding strip that was orginally built into the boat as a common grounding backbone. Does this make sense? Should the thru-hulls be connected to this to avoid corrosion?
Guessing this is the case, so set it up this way. On the right track?

Yup! Clean up the fittings, connect and put her in the water.
