Polishing and waxing topsides?
I've had my B28 for four years now. Every spring I use 3M polish/wax on the hull followed by a quick coat of BPS carnuba wax. I've been pleased with the results. But I've never used anything but Starbrite deck cleaner on the topsides and bridge. I feel like they need something to brighten them up. I tried the 3M stuff on a portion of the bow but it left a mess on the textured finish. What products can I use on my aft deck, bow, bridge, etc to add a little luster? (all original fiberglass)
Steve,
We just detailed out 39' Interceptor. We used Collinites fiberglass cleaner. I can't believe how well it worked. It even takes the brown stainning that the 3M leaves behind on the non skid. We have waffle pattern and sprayed non skid on the boat and it worked on both of them. It took out all the scuff marks on the console that have been left from our gunbelts/guns and equipment being dragged across.
West Marine sells it for about 15 bucks for a little bottle. One of the guys found it online for about 8 bucks a bottle. Today I saw it by the half gallon at Boaters World and was about 42 bucks minus the 20% discount. I do not know if it works on painted boats like mine.

Waxing
I use the Collinite cleaner and wax and it works great. The wax stays on and last all season. Is a little pricey but worth it. The wax seems to hold up real well all season

Guys,
Be sure to read Cosmo F's posting under "Wax Time"...
Cosmo has some new products in wax and cleaner and is willing to send out samples to those who ask. WalterK has tried it and likes it. http://bertram31.com/newbb/viewtopic.php?t=3996
