Neil,
As discussed our updated group and promotional dockage rates have just been finalized for 2009.
I know your group is focused on the peak August dates but please let me know if these can help.
In addition to our standard offer below, MYC will drop the Minimum to 30 feet for your group even in the peak season. If your group has some flexibility with the dates, we would really be able to offer you something special.
Of course, wherever your group goes, MYC will make sure that you have a great room here at the property. We also can do the catering even if you are not docked with us.
Here goes:
Updated Dockage Rates and Promos based on 10+ More Boats:

We are truly getting ready to Celebrate our 80th Anniversary in 2008 with our Multi-Million Dollar Renovation – A Grand Tradition. A New Beginning.
Please let me know if we can make this happen for you in August or one of our shoulder dates. We have already started to receive renewed interest from the group boating community and are truly looking forward to a great 2009.

Neil,
Giff and I are under way with evaluating some options in RI. We are considering a generous offer from Hunt Yachts to host the event, and will be meeting with them over the next 2 weeks to evaluate how well it could work for both parties (Hunt, and the B31 crew). Another option could be Point Judith.
While the Yacht Club in Montauk is a great option, it is well worn as well. If the opportunity for anther location presents itself as a viable option, it may be advisable to consider it.
We will keep you and everyone else posted on what we find.

No one's been asleep at the switch. We've been on it since I bought Hunt up as a result of Gary Caputi's letter to me. We have also had discussions with Montauk Marine Basin for a similar event as last year with the boats being grouped together. Once Dug and Giff have a proposal from Hunt, it will really be up to The Faithful to decide where it will be this year. I suspect personal expense will be a consideration, as will distances. I believe that if it is at all possible, the event should generate some funds for the site. Last year's event did. It would be nice if we could do that again, no matter where it is. Walter

Charlie,
About running outside. I like outside but you and Capt Bob in the Phoenix cruise too high. The safest way for me to go is anchor in sde Fire Island Inlet and leave the boat there. Then get on your boat! You can take me and Harv 'cause he's looking at a 2011 launch for the WindStar. Yeah, 2011. It was suppose to be 2008 but he missed it.
Brew, are you hiring???
