Randall,
That is really cool. The progress pictures are cool too. How do you get the coring of the cardboard effect? It looks like cardboard! I remember the money box and thought you were cashing out your 401k or something. That is incredible work. Do you have Bertram carvings?

This is truely amazing. My wife has picked up a couple of decorative decoys over time and I allways thought that was an art. But you blow them all away.

I agree with JP you are one of the most talented guys in the world.

thats a good thing, right?

the corrugated is pretty easy....draw a wavy line down the edge, drill holes in each U, use a small tapered diamond file to sand out to the pencil line, cut the ess free of the side a little...presto.

mike...i got you with the post-it note so i dont expect to ever fool you again.

If I just saw this on the internet without knowing the source, I would call B.S......... I can't see how anyone could really carve something so real looking out of one piece of wood, and then paint it better than the originals! To say your talented just doesn't seem to cover it.

Great Job, ScottD

Randall did the "Legend of Bertram" book for me and it sits on a coffee table next to the real book....no one can tell until they pick it up, and some not even then. He has graciously given me a number of items for the UVI and I'm still not used to them....this can't be real????

Thanks, little buddy.

Randy,

Without having uttered a word this time around, you already know that you are one of my idols and mentors...

Had a cleaning lady over last week, couldn't speak a word of english, and when she started dusting around your corner of the room she was amazed. Her words were something to the effect of: ¿Madera? Hermoso! Mucho trabajo!

and a few large paintings of waves.
Woof, woof.

Whle staring at the just the carving, I sometimes overlook the spectacular painting.

The best part of all which makes the piece even more valuable is Randall's humility for his work.

On the other topic, the only way I would believe a maid was at Pat's place would be to see her there. Since he's a wiz at computers, a pic could be easily photo shopped.

Now he may have had a women there in a maids costume, but that doesn't make her a maid.

Actually, she's due here again today to pick up where she left off. Once she's got it under control, I'll only have her out once a month. It's tough being a slob with no Momma to pick up after me... No tengo tiempo para la limpieza
