M T Y (Massive Yet Tiny) Engine

Could this be the future of combustion engines?
Designed in the good ole USA.
Will run on gas, diesel, biodiesel, compressed air,
and potentially atmospheric air. Presently estimated
for 150 miles per gallon. Suggested fuel at the moment
is diesel as it will self lubricate the engine and require
no oil changing. A 150 lb engine will replace a
3000 lb truck engine. The version to be available for regular automotive use
will weigh about 25 lbs and take up the equivilant space of a coffee can.
Horsepower for this configuration will be 250- 500hp.
Planned usage will be automotive, trucks, boats and planes.
The inventor claims "the start of a new industrial revolution".

Just imagine the possibilities of a coffee can sized engine in our 31's.
no engine boxes.
bigger fish boxes.
lounge area and/or bait/tackle station
secondary berth area under deck
fuel could last the whole season....canyons and back on 10(?) gallons.

This could open up a whole world of possibilities.

I searched on google and found several posts from 2006. I am not convinced the thing works. Running it on air to just make it spin has nothing to do with exploding diesel fuel to provide power. Sound great, looks good; but got to see it move something on it's own. One would think it should be lots farther along based on the stuff I saw from 2006.

Yeah, but this is just a "Green Geek" posting about what he just found out about, much like your post of 01/20/09... All of the stuff, ("News"), on the Angel Labs site is still very dated.

As near as I can tell, (and this still very old news), the engine has only been air driven and then all data extrapilated to make the comparisons to an internal combustion engine running on diesel fuel.

I would sure like to see a report on the MYT engine really running on it's own and not just being blown through it's cycle by 150 psi air...

OK, the "Green Geek" did say that there's new rumblings of life at Angel Labs, and the government was to be the first customer, IF the necessary funding comes through to start a production plant. But WHERE did that info come from and how old is it? Where's Morgado hiding out and why hasn't his site been updated, at least news wise?

Speaking of which, I'm wondering what's going on with the modular diesel engine development? Heard anything Bruce??

Holy sheeeeeet the first prototype in 2001; and nothing but turning one over with compressed air. It's another scam. The guy is looking for "investors" so he can go to the Caymans. I hope not; but it's got all the earmarks of BS

Gentelmen....He did say they logged 1000hrs on a ford focus running on atmosphere air. With 40:1 power output he might just be able to put out tremendous torque with compressed air alone. Remember a piston engine is a giant air pump with fuel introduced to burn. When he says he doesnt want to upset anybody i think he may actually be on to something. If it can compress air or fuel 40 times its input the concept is remarkable but i have no doubt he will be bought off or killed if it works.
