Good windless

Post by Russ Pagels »

I've got a good automatic windless on my bert. It is a model cfd, 5/8" line. It dosen't seam to have the lift it once had. I want to take it apart and check to see if I can fix what ever the problem is. It has six set screws on the upper half. I removed them but can't remove the upper half.Of course I don't have the manual, and a search of the internet turns up nothing...any help woulg great thanks Russ

Russ I have the same windlass..There are a couple on those screws on the starboard side on a cover that is on the rope tensioner..They need to be removed to remove the top of the windlass..I just sent my windlass to GOOD for reconditioning. It took 1 week , cost about $595..It was well worth it. It came back like brand new.as a matter of fact untill close inspection I thought it was...
