PROMOTION TO CAPT!!

Post by bertramsupermex »

Faithful, apologize for being absent from the site, but work at the Pentagon continues at a relentless pace. I did want to share my good news, I have been selected for CAPTAIN! It has been a 34 year journey and certainly well worth the effort. Hopefully some day I will buy all of you a shot of tequila. SUPERMEX remains in the very capable hands of Carl of Elite Marine. Take care, keep safe, love your B31. r/ Roland :-D

Roland,

That's the best news I've heard since you were promoted to Commander. Congratulations!! Now, if the Navy would just allow you wear Bertram Eagles on your collar you'd really be set.

Thanks again for being one of the guys looking out for us,

Br,

Patrick

Faithful, great hearing from you and thanx for all the congrats. I continue to be very proud of our B31 brotherhood and for Capt P's tireless effort to keep us in the same comm box. In my opinion, an elite group of true B31 enthusiasts that as UV has so eloquently reminded us time and time again, we own the best boat ever built. Enjoy your B31. r/ Roland

Captain Roland,

You make us all VERY proud. Any chance you can come down to Morehead City for the NC Bertram gathering on May 30-31? You and the bride can stay at my place and crew on Island Girl.....good folks, good boats, good food. I hope you can slip away from the Pentagon for a few days; the NC faithful would be honored to have you on board.

Tommy, good to hear from you. And thank you for your very generous offer of hospitality. Unfortunately, I just got back from several days driving down to Amarillo, Texas from Wash DC !!!!! I did the drive in 4 days. I purchased a very nice trailer mounted smoker pit. I have always wanted a large smoker and I found a real jewel. Found a a great craftsman who makes them custom that includes two real nice propane burners, BBQ grill and a 7 1/2 X 24" smoker pit with 8 slide out racks. When I was assingned to Guam, I smoked most of the Mahi Mahi and Wahoo that I caught. Incredible way to eat fish. My real joy though is smoked beef jerkey. I will have to send you some samples. Enjoy your B31 outing and I wish I could be there. Maybe next time. Adios amigo. r/ Roland
