Shipping a CC35 from West Coast to Hawaii

My buddy with a 35 Carolina Classic (35x13'6"x24' high) is moving to Hawaii, and is trying to figure out how to get his boat from the west coast to Hawaii. Anybody have any suggestions on who to contact?

I'd contact Sea Land or one of the other container vessels. I shipped a boat up to Alaska that way and a lot of the commercial salmon fishermen ship their vessels to the fishing grounds on a container vessel.

A client of mine shipped his 38 Luhrs to Los Suenos last year -- I'll call him and ask how he got it there. I know it involved having a cradle made for the boat and having water and electricity put in, he could have stayed on his bought for the transport. It was one of those ships that brings sportfishes all over the world.

Check with Pasha Hawaii, (http://www.pashahawaii.com/). Their US offices are in San Diego & they transport boats regularly...

Tell him to leave the boat at your house (with the keys) and wait a year or two to make sure he's going to like living on "The Rock".

I've heard from a couple of people who said they nearly went crazy after a year.

A guy I know .. buoght my trailer for his 31 & had them both shipped to HI. for around 3500.00 (He has a full tower. & it fit in one of their spaces)

Well, I guess the people I knew who didn't like it weren't very high up on the economic ladder (I was a lot younger too).

Aloha , from cold Maui, Snow up on Haleakala.
In August I shipped my B31 on trailer by way of Pasha and was very happy.
My intial quotes ranged from 12580 to 18900 provided by shipping brokers .
After contacting Pasha directly they did the whole thing out of San Diego
for 7800 plus tax. That was to the Island of Maui .
Which all other quotes added a premium

I lived in Hawaii for 5 years we shipped all of our construction equipment, trucks, boats etc. via Sause Brothers - This is barge shipping and it is far cheaper than any other method. Washington and Oregon loading locations.
