Harv's Dad
I was just informed that one of our own has a very, very ill father. Capt Harv.
Every time I fish w/Harv, Dad is always there. And he's good.
I will wish him well and will say a pray.

I've had trouble with my computer but was able to view all the well wishes and conveyed everyone's prayers to my father today. I am just returning from the hospital and wanted to thank everyone for your support. Dad has been diagnosed with liver cancer. He had been asymtomatic and is in no pain, but had been losing weight and feeling weak since Thanksgiving. He has also been losing blood to the tune of 5 transfusions since mid December. Last week and today, he was given an injection which seems to have his blood problem under control, but he also had one kidney (cancerous) removed in 2000 and the remaining one is functioning at 30%. He is weak physically, but strong mentally. He starts his first round of chemotherapy Saturday and is also thankful of everyone's support. As if this isn't enough for me to cope with, my mother is scheduled this week for her fifth round of chemotherapy for lung cancer. Thankfully, mom seems to be responding very well to her treatment and her cancer appears to be in remission. Again, I just wanted to extend my thanks to my extended family of the Faithful. Without you guys, my close friends, and family, I would probably be a basket case myself.

Wow. Hadn't been on the site in a while. Harv very sorry to hear this news. As you know I think the world of you two guys and the thought of doing the shark tourny without the Harv and Sy show is incomprehensible. Please give Sy Yvonne and my best wishes that he can beat this. Need him the first weekend in June !
Harv,
Please keep me posted. Let me know if there's anything I can do to help you out.

Dad came home today, but the prognosis doesn't look good.
He had 2 sessions of chemotherapy and it didn't seem to have any affect on the cancer. Any other sessions could cause cardiac or renal failure . He is very weak but very proud and is trying to do whatever he can on his own.
Special thanks go out to Charlie Haws, who stopped by Thursday while I was at the hospital, and really lit up dad's day. Then on Friday going the extra mile by stopping by the house to help my stepmom, move some furniture before dad came home. Charlie....I got you covered at the Mid Atlantic.
If anyone would like to send a card, I know dad would really appreciate it.
They can be sent to

Harv,
My wife and I read the post and she has offered any assistance you may need. She is a Hospice nurse with a background in Oncology. She is one of the founding nurses of the Meridian Hospice program and well versed in the ways of insurance and social work. Living in Pt. Pleasant she also knows most of the doctors in the area.
If you are in need of Home Care services or just a person to talk about the best care for dad with she would be more than happy to assist.
All discussions between your family and her would be confidential under HIPPA.
Let us know if you need anything via a PM.
You are in our thoughts and prayers.
