31 Bertram for sale - San Diego
Almost bought this boat when I was looking 4 yrs. ago, but didn't act quick enough. Good price on a desiel powered Bertram.

John Plavan had her first in San Diego, brought her down from the L.A. area. When I was going to SD a lot he took me for a ride on her, same trip where I took the pix of the cop boat there. Has Cummins 6BTA 300s,. CPL 970s. Nice boat, a Westerbeke diesel genset and good gear. John sold her several years ago...name then was Tankwagon as John was in the tank truck business, fuel as I remember.
Shucking a sack of salty oysters my rich and famous son, Capt. Brent brought me today from Venice.....top notch.....I see some Oysters Mosca in my immediate future.

Why mention the weather? - did it enhance anyone's knowledge of Bertrams? :wink: It's raining here. Hard. It is also quite cold. It might even snow again like it did yesterday. I have to work hard to keep the water and leaves out of the Baron. Have I mentioned that it is cold and wet?
On the positive side, I also had some oysters hand delivered from Okoever inlet. I'm thinking raw on the half shell with some habanero sauce as the cold water temperatures this time of year make them firm and tasty.
Rant over, I feel better now. Merry Christmas

Lil' buddy, we were talking about a B31 in SD, oysters, and warm weather as I recall...yesterday afternoon I was sac a lait fishing in the Goo Boat right across from my camp dock in shorts & a t shirt....then last nite a cold front blew thru, rained a bunch, and this morning it was in the low 40s...we call it here "drain the pipes weather", gonna freeze tonite in Baton Rouge they say, maybe 30. Looking forward to going to Miami Beach for a week next month to gawk at the prices at the big anti-Q show....got a week til I retire more or less....have visions of being bored, then I find something to do that's a lot more fun than being a human torpedo for others.

Oysters Mosca:
Quart of oysters, drained;
2 cups of Italian bread crumbs;
one TBS of crushed red pepper;
Juice of one small lemon;
3/4 cup olive oil;
one clove of garlic, pressed;
3 TSP of chopped parsley;
one cup of Parmesan cheese;
salt to taste.
Combine all ingrediments except oysters. Take a baking dish and place the oysters in the bottom, cover with the mixed stuff. Bake at 350 until oysters curl (about 25-30 minutes) then put under the broiler for a few minutes to brown the top. A few dots of butter on the top helps the top borwn up real nice.
This is about the best thing you will ever eat......

The good tasting oysters are just starting to show up here in SW Florida and I intend to have some tonight on the half.
I'm the same way, since I retired for the second time, I have hardly any time for Real Estate any more although my wife insists that I find some.
