Wow…. That goes back a few years!!!! I think she looks better now than then and thats saying something! Thanks for sharing Tony!!! I think that was the Montauk rendezvous back in 2003? We had over 200 people for dinner at the yacht club, 35 boats? One fellow brought his 31 and 60! Brew took his Bertram emblem off Cormorant Princess, put it on his chest without sunblock and took a nap in the sun! Best sunburn I’ve ever seen!!!

That was a rendezvous!!! Lots of t-shirts!!!!!

Dug

I have a bad habit of keeping Bertram articles and I was cleaning up some files and found this. Was shocked to see your picture.

You might be right. I could not tell if the picture was AC or not. The Cover page say's Bertram Captains Cruise to AC and it tlks about how it all started at the 2003 gathering in Montauk. The Article refers to you as the organizer and it talks about how there were dozens of Bertrams assembled on a foggy morning in Montauk.

I know the Article then goes into tlaking abouty the upcoming 2005 gathering in AC. I believe Charlie put that one together and I managed to score a rod at dinner that night. Arlene and I drove down for the day, and I spent a good amount of time talking with Harv and his parents. At dinner we were with the guys on the I think the boat was a Shot and a Beer or something like that. Also a the table and his name escapes me, but he was the Parts guy from Bertram who we used to get parts from after Bertram had shut down. Nice guy,

I remember driving Cormorant Princess back to the Montauk rendezvous after a double overnighter while Brew worked on that Bertram tattoo. GREAT TIMES!!! Patron was buried in the fish hold.

I was on the boat for that as well. I was happy to see the boat back in shinnecock this summer. It belongs there. I also remember Dug saving me from the first Montauk rendezvous at the yacht club. Thanks again Dug.

Neil

The picture underneath the one of Dug, has two Bahia Mar's right up front as the last two boats at the end of the dock. One has a black canvas top the other a Blue Stipe. I don't see any bunker spoons so might not be yours.

For some reason I think the one with the Blue Stripe might have been Harv's boat.

The article is in the July 2005 Special Edition of the Boaters Digest.

Actually I think the picture under Dug is actually the 2004 gathering in AC. It looks like the Casino's in the Background.

I remember at one of the AC gatherings Tom Ward had his 38 there, and I believe it was on the way home from either the 2004 or 2005 AC get togethrer that Soundings somehow got the picture of Dug's boat blowing through a big wave that they keep on using.

The black topped bahia mar is Harvs boat. The other bahia mar is Dick Deans boat. The first montauk rendezvous was 2003. Brewster's tattoo was the 2nd montauk rendezvous several years later.

I was not sure if I confused them or not, and you are right, the one with the Blue Stripe is Dick's.

We had a wild group back then. A couple of them could stir some pots.
