The boat came without a bathroom. Without a second station.
It came with the head in the V birth.

Haha, right, I guess it is not a priority for you, otherwise it's soooo simple to make a small toilet, forget the vanity if you feel that the kitchen sink is enough. I have plenty of pics how I did mine in case you're interested. Thanks.

Yes, I've seen them.

I believe a dedicated throne room makes for better decision making.
Also, it doesn't disturb others who want to rest in the v berth.
Perhaps it's just me, but I wouldn't feel comfortable sleeping right over the ore grinder.

Send me your email I have tons of pics, it's so easy really!

It is mostly a day boat poop on emergency only.
When we do sleep on the boat porter potty goes in the salon.
When we do sleep on the boat It is usually at a marina on fire Island with amenities. :-D

Tony, you've heard or seen this silicone or rubber, funnel looking contraption, whereby a woman can go for No 1 in a standing position, right?

when i started building my boat that was the first request of wife, daughters, grandchildren. i remove everything right to the walls and started from scratch, built vanity with Corian top, and made room for A/C in lower right than the best thing i ever did on boat i made Jabco porcelain electric controlled toilet same size as home toilet with fresh water in it at all times. as nice sink and full length mirror on back of sliding door lock from inside door and make up mirror on side wall next to vanity.thats what woman do!!!!!!!!! they change clothes and look in mirror and put on make up they also use wipes and put in basket along with famine objects.then we take boat to canyon and make in a bucket and throw off the back of boat .woman have to stand up not crawl into v-berth and must wash their hands and the grandchildren hands afterwards ----thats the law of the household. sooooo i have a dedicated bathroom not a "head" a happy wife makes a happy life. i don`t agree for the most part BUT sleeping on fire island or other marina`s getting up a walk a half a mile to bathrooms ----not!

Thanks for the galley remodel images Kross. Ignore the guys with their toilet issues, the rest of us want to see how the finished galley turns out. A lot of B-28's came with the head forward and are perfectly functional like that. Like you say, you work with what you got. We have an enclosed head on Amberjack but walk up the dock whenever possible because of the limited holding tank capacity and its not very cool to pump overboard in the marina.

Bob
I appreciate your concern for our bathroom habits. We spend about 1% of our day using the head. The other 99% of our day is spent in our unobstructed cabin. :-D

It doesn't matter what the cost is or design.
Someone's always gonna stink the place up, it's just part of being human.

Ask me about a 8.5 hour trip from Philly exec Airport to Naples Italy on a Gulfstream 4 with 12 people on board and one of those people had severe bowel issues.

Picture a flying Winnabego. Something from National Lampoons Christmas vacation.

The return trip 10 days later was just as bad.
Lighting a match wasn't an option.

Well, my wife solved this problem. Out on the water, boat rocking or moving she refuses to go in the cabin. Anchored or at the dock, a different story. So, while I would like a head like Bob Lilco, it is not a priority. I have a stand-up head that was standard on the boat, it works I'm happy and the wife is fine with it if needed.

pocket door with full length mirror on inside for the woman. the point is if you can do a easy project to your Bertram to make the woman happy and eager to go on a boat ride with the family and enjoy well what the hell go for it.the bathroom even has lavender incense at all times.the fresh water toilet is a million times more sanitary then pump salt water toilet.

believe it or not the most difficult aspect of the project was making a E-pay saddle with a track for the rollers of the sliding pocket door. i did not what to use the conventional aluminum sliding door track because i went thru all the effort of removing all aluminum around floorboards, cabin door saddle, etc. and replaced all the cabinet doors, salon draws, and floorboards with a 5/16" edge for protection (the E-pay is a strong as steel !! ) and waterproof.photo with pocket door in closed position.

One is a refrigerator the other is a freezer both are 110 current no 12 V.
I keep them plugged in all the time. Whether it be at the dock or marina or I always have my generator.

I may sound redundant but a top loading fridge/freezer with 10 cm insulation for the fridge and 15 cm for the freezer, and a couple of 130 w solar panels will make you cold drinks and ice cubes 24/7 with no shore cables or genny. If there is enough sun in your area that is.

Nice job on the galley. She looks good.

Yannis

If you ever want to run for a political office, there are a few States that you would fit in as Governor. I bet you could swing some free Solar Panels for yourself.
