Rocket launcher (need?)

The last two project boats came with fighting chairs...to be honest, on the Bahia Mar, it seemed to take up to much space. This FBC had a really poorly constructed chair that I just canned. I was thinking about a rocket launcher, but then figured I just fish out of the gunnels to save space. Any thoughts? (and no, I don't believe I'll be spending the $$$ one the fancy launchers )

That's what I did/do. My chair is in the attic.

Homemade. Holds 4 Bent butt 80’s. Have 3 swivel rod holders in the gunnels, one in each corner, one centerline in transom. Fought a few bigger BFT this year in the rod holders, not getting any younger. If you want to know how we made it, let me know. EarleyBird

Everyone today seems to mostly stand up fishing. Chairs seem to be only used for really large fish, like Marlin and Giant Tuna. I would either go with Jim's suggestion or just do what everyone else seems to do, add Rod Holders to the gunnels and go stand up.

Bought boat with a chair in the cockpit, we liked it. It said fishing boat, nice conversation piece and people liked to sit in it...well one person could anyway. For fishing it was nice as my boat did not have pole holders in the transom, so one or two could be trolled from the chair. The few times we went for tuna inshore only once did I target something that could use a chair.

Doing a project I had to pull the chair with intentions of putting back in. With the chair gone the cockpit really opened up and decided to leave it out for awhile. That was 20+ years ago...

beautiful job on that rocket launcher early bird .i have very strong reasons for a rocket launcher or chair with tray or rod holds on it.

We like buckets hanging from the chair with a rocket launcher. Always have something solid to grab onto and we do all our rigging on the seat. For us it’s the ideal tackle center. The bag on the deck we normally strap right onto the seat.

We picked up a scoponich chair for under $500 from Craigslist years ago and order the rocket launcher to replace the backrest.

Tony, I can't sit in a plane for 10+ hours and also arrive 6 hours behind my schedule.
If Elon puts a new connection with a rocket I might reconsider!
In the meantime, I can pay for refreshments anytime!

Yes, but after party you get back on plane and catch up on your 6 hours. Or if you can grab a real fast plane you can keep going all the way around and return yesterday. And if you land yesterday before you take off, you can cancel the flight and it won't cost you anything.
