Garmin Panoptix Transducer

I have an 8610 and was looking at the garmin liveview Panoptix transducer. I have seen mixed reviewa in salt water, any comments, experiences, thoughts?

I don't have any direct experience with them but for saltwater use, everyone that I've spoken with has basically said the same thing which is that are not very functional and limited to shallow water.

Apparently the Furuno units run at a lower Hz and will get down to about 800'

There are some youtube videos that you might consider watching where Furuno compares their units to the big 4 competitors.
