Are you sure the sending unit or the gauge is not causing the temp difference?
Did you shoot the engine with a temp gun to see if one asrea was running hotter than the other?
And finally, did you use the temp g in to check the temp of the water running out the exhaust?
Got an engine prob Cummins B series any ideas maybe?

Tony, I did install a brand new temp sender last month. I am not 100% sure but will use a laser thermometer next trip out and check diff areas on the block and confirm the sender as well.
