Are there any 28 flybridge owners out there that have solved the problem of taking off the ladder to the flybridge
To access the starboard motor.
I have thought about removing or redesigning the railing behind the ladder.
Repositioning the ladder so that it is more vertical and can then be swung up and chained to the upper railing.
Or making the ladder so that it folds in the middle.

I have bungee-cord hooked it to the stainless eye, where the awning forward straps attach on the side pillar. The other hook goes under the second step. No more banging in heavy weather.
Also, is serves as a perfect restraint for the open hatch- you lift the ladder all the way up, you open the engine hatch and then you bring the ladder down to hold the hatch open.
Lately, does not show in pic, I covered the horizontal metal part, the one which is up against the bulkhead with armaflex, the hollow insulation for metal tubing, perfect.

I made a prop from pvc pipe that fits under the aft end of the hatch and the inboard side of the scupper. This prop holds the hatch about half-way open, so when I want to check the engine I pull the 2 pins from the bottom of the ladder, lift it until the bottom hits the railing, then open the hatch until it hits the ladder, and pull down the prop to hold it open. Gives plenty of room to check the oil and look everything over.
