THT Guy Looking For RLDT

Post by Freebird »

Howdy fellers, long time no post. Just happened across this thread on THT the other day and suggested he stop in. Not sure if he did, but I thought some of you may have an interest in his thread.

Haven't heard the term RLDT for quite a while, wonder what happened to Thudddd. wonder if his Hat is still a planter. Quiz for the new guys if they can guess what RLDT stands for.

I have to wait until some of the new guys take a guess. That is a classic acronym... Thuddddd is well and alive (believe it or not!!!). He spends most of his days luxuriating with high end drink, skiing on bum knees, and hunting with highly trained and skilled dogs for little birdies in the woods of northern new England and new York. All in all, living the life!

Not boating so much... unless its with others, which is not so dumb financially...

Cannot wait to see the guesses!!!!

I had wondered if the Thudddster was still playing on this forum, but I won't give away the acronym. He and I are Facebook friends, and he has become a political analist. Yes, I spelled it that way on porpoise.

CHEATER!!! :)

Well hell, now that the search thing has reared its ugly head, I'll spill the beans. After all, I'm the one who brought up.

RLDT = Rolling Little Death Trap

BTW, I talked to Thudddster and told him his ears should be burning. Also confirmed the Hatt is still a really nice piece of yard art. :)

No, that would have been lying. ;-)

If you boys miss pot stirring, I'll be happy to remind you of the superiority of a Hatteras. Well, except for Thuddd's, but that thing will never roll in his yard and kill all those pretty flowers he planted in the hull.

I just assumed that people would click on the link. Guy is looking for a 28 Bertram aka RLDT. Is Randall still playing with you guys after selling his?

Randall pops in from time to time. I guess we heard from a couple of months ago.

Yannis

Timmy or better known as Thudd, because of the sound he made after hitting the floor from trying to hoist one to many, was or maybe still is a hatterass lover. He called our beloved 31 a rolling little death trap.

Old Uncle Vic God rest his sole had another name for the 28. By the way old Uncle UV was a 31 lover and was know to tell the boys at Bertramthst they lost their way.

Tony, thanks.

So, I was right by assuming that this acronym referred to a 31 !

As for UV's nickname for the 28, was it a "Hyena boat" or something along these lines?

Hmmm, my bad. I thought RLDT was devoted to the 28 (which would be much more appropriate), but maybe RLDT in regard to a 31 means Rolling Larger Death Trap. ;-)

Don't know, I tried searching it up but no luck. It's buried somewhere on a Ft Lauderdale boat show post pertaining to Capt. DQ

Boy this place is really going to hell now !

Thuddd knows we still talk about him talked to him a month or two ago he helped me with some technical question on replacing my side windows. His boat is still a planter he should have taken Capt Pat's offer of his chain saw dam shame but things change and he has been staying busy. I tried to get him to Greenport last summer during the 2 rendezvous offered him a bunk and all but no go, maybe one day?

To get him to Greenport, just tell him the boys are saying he is afraid to play with the big boys.

Stephan, RLDT covers all 31's, no matter the power, according to Timmy aka Thuddd (by the way, at least three 'd's are required in the pronunciation, the number of times he bounced according to Timmy) , just like UV and the Hyena boats, who by the way, gave Timmy the name thuddddd. I miss them both on this site.

Mike correct me if I am wrong, but wasn't it Predator that started that?

It did. Timmy would drink himself into a coma, wake up at 4:15 to a breakfast of 5 eggs, 3 sausages, 8 strips of bacon, and 6 cups of coffee..... and then we would head to the canyon.

Randall and I would eat lunch while Timmy puked over the rail.

We always caught a load of fish. I nearly changed his name to Chumley.

Of course, I was also present when he got his nickname from Uncle Vic. Even Ric had passed out by that point.

The funny thing was that Timmy passed out from watching Vic drain a water glass full of vodka. His eyes just rolled up into his head and he hit the ground. The bartender came around the bar and drew a chalk outline around him.

Yup, I remember Timmy telling the story, but his recollection was slightly different, the first time he told the story to me when he was almost sobber, I asked again after his 6th or 7th drink and the part about "he might have been a tad hung over" crept into the story.

I remember going Tuna fishing on Hun's Old Hat. Took an hour long nap and when I woke, I could still see the Merrimac Inlet and I had black lung disease from the station wagon effect. 9 hours later we had covered 40 miles and no fish, but at least the one engine (aka Oil slinging Dump truck engine) was still running well enough to get back. Ahh the good old days...

Glory Days as in when Springsteen didn't worry about transgender bathroom legislation? I never donated to Bertram Lives Matter, but I did try to send that guy this way since he seemed to have his heart set on one. That should count for something.
