Crows Nest has 300 hp DDs running through 1.5 gears. I forget the size of the wheels. Right now, she has the 4-blades on her. I also have a set of 3-blades. Both sets of props are "right" for her, and by that I mean she'll run up to recommended rpm at WOT with either the 4-blades or 3-blades.
Which set will give me a lower trolling speed?
I can get her down to about 3.5 knts or so at dead idle with the 4-blades on one motor. I'm assuming that I'll get more slip at low rpms with the 3-blades, and that she may go a little slower. Any guess as to how much slower? She doesn't have trolling valves, and the slower I get her the better I am for rock fishing.

Re: 4-blade v. 3-blade question
I'm with Charlie, 3 blade, tabs down, idle as low as u can get her without hunting, bump in n out of gear or drag a bucket. I have 4 blades and did just fine last year with bunker spoons, current on the nose, down current bumped in and out of gear.BH

Re: 4-blade v. 3-blade question
Charlie/Bob-
I'll put the 3-blades on. She doesn't have tabs, so we'll see how it goes.
Thanks-
John
