I'm familiar with weather in the Mediterranean and Adriatic... Maybe they're having an exceptional warm spell in the Adriatic right now but I strongly suspect these pictures are from the summer... I.e. they're supposed to be motivation to get your boat ready (in the winter) so as to have fun (in the summer)...

If you're looking for for a 365 day per year boating season you should come down here (SEF - South East Florida)...

Precisely so !

By the way, it's the Aegean (the Adriatic is in Italy), but except for the weather, you can tell by the tomatoes that they're summer pics.

I'm not looking for 365 days of sunshine, it gets boring. I love sub zero temperatures, snow, evenings by the fireplace etc and the alternation of the seasons makes the exercise interesting. Which brings me to thinking that the seasons should not be the only alternating thing in life....if you get my point !!!!

With the numbers of tourists flocking to the Greek Islands I wouldn't be surprised if Yannis has to pay to keep ladies OFF the boat...

Lol, funny comments, both of them !!!

The only thing is that you can only invite so many ladies aboard, given ...the amount of space they each take-up - lotion bottles, handbags, towels spread out everywhere etc, a lady consumes roughly twice the space of a guy... Anybody arguing this ? ha, ha.
Perhaps any of you with high % of female population families (plus their girlfriends) can explain better !!

Yannis:

My master bedroom has 3 closets -- one a walk-in and the other two double door width. Where were my clothes???? In the guest room closet...the one down the hall.

Hey, Tom, it's when you sit down and think with whose money those closets were filled up, that your suicidal instincts surface !!
Best to walk away...
I have a friend who's been with many, very many...in the high hundreds...I asked why? He said because he's not rich enough to have a permanent wife...

Some friends of mine keep telling me that owning a boat is not smart money wise... They claim (probably with much justification) that charting one once in a while is cheaper...

Once you say I Do you are always paying. In fact if I remember right, the paying starts before you even say I Do.

I used to know a guy who bragged he never paid for it. I told him want to bet on it. Dinner, drinks and on and on.

Nav,

Nice metaphor !
In fact, my friend adds that with the chartered "boat" you KNOW exactly what your expenses will be... Plus the guarantee !!

Tony,

How true ! Even if you say I Might... not even I Do !!

Yannis,
Unfortunately we are sailing tomorrow headed to Malta, or else i would love to meet up! I went over to Piraeus, "Marina Zea," last night for dinner and saw two Bertram's in the harbor. When they say the "Sun never sets on the Bertram EMPIRE" they really do mean it. Its an absolutely beautiful area even when it is cold, cant wait to make it back!

Yannis

Going to be 15 tonight here in NJ, wind takes us down to 0. Calling for big snow this weekend. But, 12 inches is big to us. My sister in law lives up near 1000 island NY and had over two feet of snow last week. Now that is big. Not Boston big, as in last year but it is a lot of snow.

Yep, -7 F or -21 C

Last May when he put in the boat, he had to push the icebergs out of the way. Guess that is why his location is Frozen Tundra and I thought Mass was cold.

Hi Yianni,

Call me when you see this on 6944356937..... I haven't seen you in about 15 years so running across you here is a pleasant surprise! You haven't changed (looks...) and your boat looks messy (as always)! Filia, Mat
