Well, we made someones list.

An odd mix in my head...

Two Classic Sportfish and the balance CC's.

While I do like CC and think they have a place, I think a comfy ride with some amenities really add to a fishing experience.
A place to crash for a few hours during a lull, maybe get out of the weather for abit...enjoy a cup of fresh brewed coffee under the stars or at sunrise.

But, yes, glad to see we made the list...but not by much.

Carl: I agree -- but the majority of the world doesn't run as far as we do, nor stay overnight. Although I do now own a twin OB CC, I will still pick either of the flybridges noted, a 54 Bertram, a 39 Topaz and a few other boats that have some amenities besides neckbreaking speeds and 150gph consumption.

In 1968, Roy Merritt took the jig for the 42 and refined the deckhouse to make it more attractive. The result: the first 43-footer, the Caliban, which helped Allen Merritt win seven out of 11 Cat Cay Tuna Tournaments - more than any captain in history. The boat was later sold to Ralph Gilster who called it Xiphias. This was the boat on which Capt. Barkey Garnsey first made a name for himself, and that mate Larry Martin caught the 1,282-pound all-tackle Atlantic blue marlin record from in 1977. Today the boat is owned by William Spolar and called Cat's Meow. (source: Marlin Magazine)

My son took the Merritt photo at Cat Cay. He was mating on the boat at the time. That's one of the shots they don't have permission to use.
