Bertram 37 finished
it has been a lot of work , but again a nice product :)
Had to change the name , due to the French meaning of Defiance...
After Christmas we took her to the Islands in the North of Holland for a test run , put 20 hours on her and now she is good to go for transport to the south of France.
First picture is a anode that was fallen of and was stuck in front of the cooler , took everything of and acid everything that had to do with cooling , overhauled the pumps and put the stuff back together with all new hoses .
Further more all new canvas , interior upholstery , teak interior , new auto pilot , chart plotter , 110 / 220 mastervolt generator and the list goes on.....

Gert - Looks fantastic!
Have you only been working on the 37 or are there more projects in process as well?
Ian.

Gert
You did it again. Beutiflul.
I see you left the lower helm in, do you plan on using it much? Has to be tough to see running it at speed from down there.

Gert, Sweet looking 37, you have a good eye that's for sure. I will forward those pics to my Dad, some great ideas when he gets ready to do a makeover on his 87' 37. Great boat has gotten us through some nasty stuff, good luck and enjoy. Keep the pics coming from those exotic destinations. A Bertram never looks out of place or out of date.BH

Re: Bertram 37 finished
Gert nice job, the 37 was on our short list when we went boat shopping, love this pic of yours with no rail
Small hardtop riggers and some antennas and she'd be perfect, for beating up the blue water.
Looks great good luck

Re: Bertram 37 finished
Gert,
First, as usual, you have outdone even yourself...
Second, I have a couple of questions:
1) what's the arrangement to launch/recover the dingy?!...
2) how did you do the name on the step?!...

Re: Bertram 37 finished
Thanks for the compliments guys !!
she turned into a looker .. :0 but I like the design of the 31 better ......one day ... I will make a 42 footer with that design !
Ian , lots of project going on , lost a lot of photo's going from IPHONE 5 to 6... 200 + boats in the sheds , never a dull moment.. :)
John , never saw such happy faces..
Tony , I will never use the lower helm , maybe the next owner will..
Navatech , dingy I can lift by myself , its a zodiac 275 rib . and I am very stong :) :0 the name on the back are stickers first white , then black , then engine turn gold.
We have been working on a Dutch life boat build in 1922 in the old days the heroes rowed those , diesel power came after the war , I think that there were 11 build.
Needless to say this is the best looking one :) :) :)

Gert, the Liberty Yacht 42' Flybridge is basically a B-31 on steroids, so the boat you mention building one day already exists. I tried to post photos but failed. Google Liberty 42 Flybridge images to view.

Re: Bertram 37 finished
Thanks Nav,
I merely posted about this boat because Gert said he planned to build a 42-footer based on the B-31 design. I bunch of us went on a Liberty 42 at one of the FLL Boat Shows, and it was laid out just like the 31 FBC, with excellent workmanship (as far as we could see). Upon reviewing the specs, I see that the Liberty 42 is just over 38" LOA, so Gert may need to pull the trigger on the 42-footer after all. Keep us posted, Gert!
