Building the Livewell for Bertram 31, hull #161

1/12/2000
I've received several inquiries this week about the livewell fitted into the transom of "Fortuna".  Not having time to fully address all that went into it at this moment, these seven images will at least serve as a preview.

The inner shell:
Note the raised configuration here. This is where the water chest will fabricated, allowing for a gentle, but high volume, flow of water to be introduced.

The inner shell:.
The inside view of the water chest area.

Jumping several fabrication steps to the finished water chest.

The water is drained through a 1 1/2" PVC stand tube.

Jumping over some tedious fitting and fairing to the fully installed and finish painted livewell.

Coming...
Making the plug, fitting into the transom, the water chest, insulation, and exterior fabrication.

I'll try to expand this section in the coming weeks to include a better text content and fill in the blanks. Even a fairly brief step through will require 25 images.

Best Regards,

Patrick
