Starting diesel to gas repower this weekend

Post by conchy joe »

Well faithful, I've made the plunge. I purchased two Cummins 4BT's and they arrived from Maryland this weekend. I've spent the last two days getting them off the pallets in my driveway (no small feat), the the ZF 200a's off and the motors disassembled to the bare blocks. One had a blown head gasket and the other looked like a newer gasket. Everything else looked a little tired but serviceable.

I am keeping a video diary which I will post on youtube under my the username: Nitroxgod.

I hope that you will all stay tuned and I look forward to everyone comments.

Joe,

Good luck with the repower.

Remember, a lot of issues have been dealt with by everyone here, so don't be afraid to ask a question.

If the 4bs are like the 6bs.. fabricate the left front motor mount to allow easy access to raw water pump with out removal of mount.. needs to be serviced every 1000 hrs or so,,

I was confused by the subject -- I thought this was the first diesel to gas conversion of a Bertram!
