Best vacation in a long time !!part 3

Post by Gert van Leest »

Hi Guys ,

Iam back and had the best vacation since along time !!!

I cruised the medeterian over 600 nauticalmiles , with the best conditions.

1 day I had the Mistral wind , left the family at the hotel ,took her out by myself.............everthing I read and heard about this boat is true, going up wind in a 9 ft swell with a lot of chops in between , unbelieveble what this boat is capable of.
I saw a lot of Bertams 31 , most of them are in st Margeritue Ligure about a dozen of them.
if you want to see the pictures go to

Gert,

Glad you had a great vacation; thanks for sharing the photos. James in Monte Carlo (who bought my old Island Girl) saw your boat when you were passing through and went down to meet you. He posted on your original thread in hopes that you might give him a call. Glad to hear that Island Girl performed to your expectations.

Gert,
Thanks for sharing your vaction pictures, I felt like I was almost there with you, It's the closest I'll ever come to cruising the Med. Your boat is the nicest one that I saw during the entire 103 pictures. My boat is like the black hull express only she's white topside, red boot , blue bottom. If you ever get to the Stuart Florida area please call. Thanks again for the great pictures.

I enjoyed the pictures too. Thanks for posting. The boats over there seem very well cared for.

I know what the book says, but it certainly seems like there are about 50,000 of 'em out there. I guess it's just that all but a few are still on the water.....
