I'd like to duplicate the font, color, style from the VRMC, Virginia Marine Patrol B31's-
Can't find any photos via google, does anyone here have photos of the names/sterns of these B31's?

they have done several boat names for mr over the years and on their website, you can match the typeset. I have found their product to hold up well and when a letter was ruined by a "feaux pas", they were able to redo quickly. Give 'em a shot.

I miss the old days when they ran the B31's. Now they have high performance RIBS, wear strapped down guns and have an attitude that matches!! Why does the Coast Guard have to stop people fishing in center consoles with RIBs with machine guns mounted in the bow? Why do they require ID from people fishing on a boat which displays a boat license and threaten you if you don't have your wallet with you? It is infuriating!! i miss the old days of watching the 31's run up river. It was a better time.

She's patiently awaiting her revival and I'm patiently saving the $'s to revive her.
Bob, I'm going to try to follow your progress but I don't think my budget can stay with you. I'll be satisfied to just get her back to her old stomping grounds, the middle Chesapeake Bay and Potomac River. Good luck with her.
Tangier, I have some other pics I could post if needed.

look as this boat ! can you belive the cindition of the glass for a 1979 . if mother nature sprung up in the atlantic what better boat in this size class could you possibly have!!! this style bertram is the cats meow --sedan with sealing cockpit hatches has to be the best boat ever built for rough water.

let me clearify the sedan thing . i should say in the northeast , if in the south west you would not need the protection the cabin would give . open bahia mar would fit the ticket .spring cold and damp and fall just plain cold in nov,dec on the water .a center console in the north atlantic canyon is perfect if you just came out of navy seal training but for the rest of us then rain is like bb hitting you in the face .most of the pilot house as they call them now are about 91/2 to 10' at beam and 15 degree deadrise they launth every 10 waves or so. powerd by twin 250 they do 53 mph in the bay in the ocean maybe 25 mph and put your head into the ceiling at that. this sedan is 10 times as sea worthy at 1/4 the price .

Looks the same as the day they went on, and yes, I goofed on the first boat and a replacement letter came in less than a week.

I'm taking care of my late buddy Alex Moore's VRMC B31 "Sandy Point". Boat is original...in the same condition as the Wicomico pictured on this thread with a couple of tired carb 454s.
Wondering what the best course is to get most value out of the boat. Options I'm considering...
1) Leave it in original condition and sell.
2) Install rebuilt 454 efis and minor reconditioning and sell.
3) Fix it up as a perf sedan as Whaler1777's Summer Wind. (luv the look)
4) Fix it up and add a Fly Bridge.
I will retire in a few and can do (looking forward to doing) most work myself.
This bunch obviously has some expertise in the matter...I'm interested in your thoughts as to what option ends up being most valuable.

It all has to do with what your own plans are. If you plan to retire soon and will use the boat for your own enjoyment, fix it up now while you're still making money and enjoy it in retirement as it will be the only boat you will ever need for the rest of your life. If it's a business venture, make it run good and as a gasser, make sure you have removed the fiberglass tank and replaced it with aluminum, as it will be the first question a potential buyer/surveyer will ask. Same goes for the fuel and vent lines.
