I'm in the process of trying to document my 31 Sprotfish. I finally figured out what my hull ID # is and I now need a measurement called "overall depth. Here's the Coast Guard's definition of overall depth:
Overall Depth means the vertical distance taken at or near amidships from a line drawn horizontally
through the uppermost edges of the skin (outside planking or plating) at the side of the hull (excluding the
cap rail, trunks, cabins and deckhouses, and deck caps) to the outboard face of the bottom skin of the hull,
excluding the keel. For a vessel that is designed for sailing where the interface between the “keelâ€
and the “bottom skin of the hull†is not clearly defined (as is the case with an “integral†or “fairedâ€
keel), the keel is included in the “overall depthâ€.
The form has pictures. Here's a link to a copy of the form:

My interpretation of this on the 31 is to take a measurement from the rub rail to the bottom of the V near mid ship. Does anyone have and idea what this measurement is?
Thanks,
JR
