Anonomous Artist

Post by Harv »

I received an email the other day.
It contained this painting by his daughter that took her 3 days to paint.
Knowing my affiliation and friendship with most everyone here, I was asked to post for comments and criticism.
So here's the painting, don't be afraid to post your true feelings. I'll start.....I think this is pretty damn amazing.
Thanks in advance.

Surprisingly good given the time frame. Is the young lady a fisherperson or someone who does research? Walter

Walt,

I really don't know anything more than I posted.
I was asked in good faith to keep her identity anonomous.
If I am given liberty at some time in the future, I will be happy to
post more information.

Come on guys.....21 views and only one post....what gives??

The body and tail seem rigid lacking contrapposto, if that is the correct term when referring to fish. I think that the shading, coloring and scale are well done.

Overall it is a very good drawing, far better than anything that I could do, that's for sure.

I like it...well because it's a great subject...a fish, colorful, proportions look correct and all.

The down side, it looks like a drawing, lacks the motion and feel of a vivid live animal, sail is perfectly straight, the line of the fish is perfectly straight, except for the arch of the head. I just feel empty.

If I could draw that well, I'd be on cloud nine. If my daughter could draw, paint that well everyone here would have a copy by now.

But I do have this neat chopper made and given to me by my daughter Nicole hangen in my office...Look Out Randall !!!

It looks like it would be good on the back of a boat.
