my phaser 3.5 will start for a second and cut off, i noticed the idle arm will suck in on start up but push out and cut her off, is the arm attached to somthing like a solidnoid.i can keep her running by holding the arm in, i plan on cleaning up all conn. any thoughts. i dont have the manual, if anyone has one for the 3.5 phaser gen ill glady take a copy.

That arm is the fuel solenoid most likely. Whats happening it seems is the thing won't stay energized after letting off the crank when it starts.

Make sure you have oil and then go thru and bypass each of the shut down switches to check. I've replaced a bunch on those gen sets.
