A guy at the boatyard is looking for a pair of remans for his Black Watch. Anyone know of a supplier on the east coast, with good pricing and dependable sales rep. It's going to Mass.

These guys rebuilt my CATs but they do cummins as well.

I've been reading your posts and remember your boat from Port Eads. The 300+ Yannis you were looking at are wrong for your boat...as are Detroits.
The perfect engines for your Bahia Mar are the Cummins 6BT 250's. You will cruise at 24+ as you are lighter than the flybridge cruiser. Parts, mechanics, site advice and long life come with those engines. You're overthinking the project. My two cents. Walter

Good advise Walter. If I am going to go the Cummins route I will probably stick with the 210's. No turbo or after cooler to deal with. My boat will be extremely light and the seas will not allow a 25 knot cruise where I live. I thought I had the Yanmars bought but things did not work out. I have about 3 - 4 months to make a decision.

John, the 210's do have turbos, just a smaller turbo that the 250's and up - but you are right about no aftercooler. Most people I know have had great luck with them, but Durwood ruined a set fairly quickly, replaced them with slighly newer 215's that he's had good luck with. He gave up on the common-rail truck engines due to computer problems, so those engines are available if you were interested. Price might be right.
