Bahia Mar project

Started on this small project about 7 months ago and finally was able to login to share it with you guys. Bought the boat last October and the initial plan was to buy the boat, update her and get it back in the water for this year but too many issues were discovered which led to a complete refit minus motors. At 450 hours and counting. Pulled the shafts today in preparation for 1.5” shafts and fiberglass logs. Pulling the motors next week for paint and some horsepower upgrades. Still have a good 3-400 more hours of work left but it’ll definitely be worth it in the end.

If that is a "small project" I'd love to see what a large one is...then again, maybe not. LOL

I’ll have to rescind the award since I had to make a new username from prior since I couldn’t remember it. Definitely started as a small project but turned into a monster once I got down to the guts and saw they were falling out. Cracked rudder shelf, rotted bulkheads, rotted strut/rudder pads, it just kept going and going. Bought the boat sight unseen aside from a survey and well, he was clearly the brokers buddy or was mesmerized by the lipstick on the pig.

Very nice work it’s looking sharp! Like the transom door I should put one in for all the swimming the family does it would be handy. Plus one day I might drag a fish through it.

Thanks. The door was a must for the dogs and to please the wife since I’m not doing a swim platform. Transom was more stout than most boats after cutting the door in so have no worries if you do cut one in.
