Exhaust Hose - Wire Reinforced or Not?

Post by Vince Luciani »

I'm looking to put my exhaust together. I am not installing a muffler (for now) and will have about an 8 foot run from my mixing elbow, straight out to the transom. Should I use hard wall (wire reinforced exhaust hose) or soft wall? I plan to support the hose at appropriate intervals.

The old 4 inch exhaust hose was soft wall.

As always, thanks for everyones response.

Wire!

Of course I have some fiberglass tube left if you could use it. I think like 6-7 feet. 4"

Wire it is!

Thanks for the offer Dug, but I need only 6 inch diameter.

Thanks guys. I thought so, but the old hose being soft wall (and lasting so long) threw me off.
