Somewhere a while ago I read that you could restore the color of faded old formica by coating it with WD40. I am in the process of cleaning up my Grady 24 Center Console OB prior to selling it. The boat has an imitation wood formica covered instrument panel, which is very faded and dull. Below the instruments is a row of black Buss fuse holders (the kind with the ends that come off with a quarter turn. These were faded to gray. The whole panel looked ugly!
Believing that anything WD40 can do, CX can do better, I applied a coat of CX to the whole panel with a rag.. instrument bezels, formica, and fuse holders.. all came out looking beautiful! The wood grain is restored, and the fuse holders are shiny black. I suspect this may not last long, but for now it looks great!
New use for CX?
