WTF!!!!

Post by CamB25 »

Just barking a the moon...

UPS Freight picked up my engine in Florida Monday afternoon. It arrived (according their tracker) at my pick up point Wednesday at 0740. I called them to double check their hours for pick up and they say, "Sorry, we have lost your shipment". One crate, less than 48 hours, and it has vanished. They promise to look for it and let me know if it turns up.

WTF!!!

I used UPS in an attempt to avoid this type of BS. Don't even ask me if I have insurance

I had a 2-1/2" x 20' Boat Shaft lost coming up from Virginia by UPS.

Can you describe the package sir...Sure, its a 6 x 6"wooden crate about 20' long with a Shiny SS shaft inside, its a couple hundred pounds.

Does package have any specific marking that would help us pick it out from others. Other then label with our address and it being a pretty heavy, 6 x 6 x 20' long box, no not really.

Thank you...we need 7 days for our investigation before we can file a claim..... But Boat is slated to go in the water on Monday, we need it now or need to reorder now.

It was eventually found...but not till after I delivered the replacement.

I would show up and start looking yourself. You will identify it instantly where as they will walk right past it.

This was my first thought when they said it was lost, but I couldn't get away from the office for a wild goose chase.

The story is evolving. Called Customer Service at 0800 this am (call routes to the Philippines, of course). UPS says, "Great news, we found it! It's on the dock at your destination." It was probably there the whole time...and I wasted a lot of really good Bourbon.

We'll see tonight if it is still in one piece.

Another oddity....I shipped this thing COD. You have to call another 1-800# to pay the bill. Can't pay at the distribution center. So...I call, and they charge me $250 LESS than what they quoted me. Only hesitated a millisecond before rattling off the Visa #.

my head hurts...

I had a 500# mushroom anchor with heavy chain "disappear" from a marina at one point.
I was young .... now-a-days, marina owner would have had a much harder time

30". 300. White panels. About 120 hours. Can't post pictures because I refuse to deal with Photobucket.

All new rigging came with it. Just need to get the boat finished and we'll hang it. Maybe next winter.

Next winter? Nope. I can not accept that answer. July 1st is as long as I will wait at max to see performance numbers.

It will be a beautiful combo.

Cam,

Springfield, as in next to Alexandria? If so, my son lives in Alexandria, I'll have to stop by to check out your excellent handywork.

That's great! The boat is a little farther south, near Catlett, VA. 45 min to an hour from my house.

Cam keep taking those small steps and before you know it the project will be done. Glad the engine was not a catastrophe! Todd
