LI Sound/Mattituck fishing?

I'm headed up to Mattituck to visit my parents this coming weekend. He's been catching snappers/little blues in the inlet. I'd like to get him on se bigger blues (he loves catching bluefish). Any bigger fish around? Troll? Look for schools? Any other ideas? He still fishes his 22 Edgewater, but we can't run to far. Thanks
