Hello everyone,
I need your opinion about the best batteries i can use for starting my engines and power my accessories.
The local batteries in Philippines are really bad quality products with 0 warranty, i found in a store 4 OPTIMA
BLUE D27M and i want to know if some of you use this batteries without problem.Of course price of this
batteries in Philippines reach 400$ for one! awful but what to do.....
Otherwize i will have to import batteries from States or other countries and it will take months.
What are you using in States? Optima? Odyssey?Deka?
Thanks
Best regards
Olivier

Re: Batteries for my 2 cummins 504
O!over
We all use something different. Some use Optima,Some Oddyssey,Deka, or other wet cells. I am using group 31for my 270 Cummins. One will start the engines, but I have them doubled up, so I have two starting each engine. I am going binto my 8th year with them. I keep them fully charged.
Not sure one group 27 will be enough. You might need to set them up to bring two online to start an engine. Only issue is that if you have to combine them to start an engine, you could find your self stuck if one dies.
If you have a house battery, make sure you can combine it with the start battery.
If you can get golf cart batteries, you could also get them to work also.
Hopefully Bruce will add his thoughts.

Oliver-
I used 2 deka 8d's for my 504's. I replaced my cable terminations, and crimped and soldered the replacement connectors. This helped imensely. My batteries were seperated except for starting.
Hope this helps you.
