BONDING WIRES

Post by Craig Mac »

I plan on redoing some/all my bonding wires---any suggestions for the secondary wire---what gauge?

For the rudder ports, I see multiple wires----is this necessary or recommended?

Actually, I am sure I am missing some----does anybody have factory detail for this?

Craig,

There are two bonding points for each rudder. The shaft tube that penetrates the hull and the rudder shaft. The rudder shaft is easily bonded by attaching the bonding wire to the cross bolt on the tiller arm. Wind the wire around a 1/4" - 1/2" dowel to create a pig tail about 3" long so that the movement of the rudder doesn't pull wire tight...

I prefer 8 gage wire for the secondary wires. Nothing smaller than 10 gage...

Patrick

Capt. Patrick posted this link for me when I had some bonding questions. Thought it might be of use to you as well.
