After months without seeing anything interesting on line or in the news about ethanol in gas.. I found a second interesting ethanol mention in two days.. here is the major portion of a post made in Southern Boating magazine on page 11 of their May 2015 issue.
This was written by Dan Wilson, of Rev-X Products, a manufacturer of products that are used to mitigate the problems caused by ethanol in gasoline. He was responding to a question asked about why the gas someone purchased at a marina cost was so high, with the fuel dock attendant stating it was because the gas being sold was ethanol free. The following is an extract of Wilson’s comments about what his company has found.
“Guess what? We have been testing ethanol free gasoline at marinas around the country and I can tell you for a fact that marinas do not even know what is being put into their bulk tanks. Over 85% of the ethanol free gasoline sold at marinas contains ethanol alcohol from 8% to more than 13%. Yes, you read that correctly! If you are unlucky enough to be boating in the southwest US you can expect even higher levels of the alcohol to be present.”
So.. be aware that the gas you are being sold as ethanol free is 85% likely to contain significant levels of ethanol.
Just another wonderful benefit being crammed down our throats by our government!
Ethanol free gas probably isn't!

That is why you want to test it before you put it in your tank!
