I have 6 "fender" cleats from GemLux. I think they are the slimline and either the 4" or the 6".
Over the weekend I did the following for install:
1. Made a router template.
2. Tested in plywood.
3. Positioned and cut the 6 openings.
4. Sealed the exposed core material and bedded the cleats in place.
Are your cleats for tying up the boat or for fenders? I ask because I wish I had put in separate cleats to hold the fender lines so one cleat for the dock lines and a smaller cleat for the fender lines. It's an easy project, but once the boat is finished you tend not to go back and start cutting holes again. I should just get on it, I guess.
I plan to add additional cleats in the stern for dock lines. I will not add a seperate cleat for spring line so I will end up using one of these for spring.
Really trying to decide if I want pull up for the dock line cleats. I usually do not remove dock lines while underway, so I am leaning towards traditional cleats vs. the hidden ones.
If you want to add the same cleats that I have, I can send you the router template.
Very nice, Ian; are they Gemlux cleats? We used Gemlux pullup cleats on my brother's Sportsman and they look like yours. I would use them all around as they provide a very clean look when dropped in the flush position.
Ian,
The Accon Pull up cleats are what we used when we were building the 34' Legend in the early 2000's. They were well constructed, what ever you do don't use the spring loaded push button cleats, they last about 8 months in salt water conditions, the springs turn to crap real quick. Use only the pull up type. Spray everything with a good dose of CX.

Ian, I think mine are Accons, 6 years old, salt and fresh water used boat. I will take some pictures tomorrow, but I think that they have stood up really well. Never really looked after them at all.
My recessed spring line cleats also have a drain fitting , maybe u don't need it in your application, mine drain into the the 2" drain system I incorporated for all grey water management that runs on both sides of the boat
I do not have drain tubes on mine. They did not come with any and I definately did not have the foresight as you did to have a specific grey water management system.
