Bill, you have a water issue as well..that turbo has seen quite a bit of salt..do you have stock cummins elbows? What is the height of the shower head from the waterline? You can replace the turbo but it may happen again, and then some. I will take a pic of the turbos I just changed didn't look anything like that.BH

BH: doubt they are stock but dont know. i do know that the guy that did the installation has been around a long time and has a good reputation. that engine is 1991 and was backyard remanned in 2002 or 2003 so that turbo could be 20+ years old for all i know but at least 10 for sure. sounds like i def. need to investigate exhaust config. though. if i can get another 10 years out of the the new turbo, it will probably outlive the block. I called a new mechanic thats going to help me out next week so maybe he will be able to answer some exhaust related questions for me.
