I tried to register to see the pics, and.... they sent me a mail in that "I do not qualify their criteria" to become a registered member !
What did I do wrong?
Who do they think they are?

If your email address reflects you being in Greece (.gr at the end) they might consider you a potential spammer or something... Yes, it's stupid... Try registering using a google.com address... Or send them an email explaining that you're a boats aficionado... They might reconsider...Yannis wrote:I tried to register to see the pics, and.... they sent me a mail in that "I do not qualify their criteria" to become a registered member !

Nav, I have thirty other things to do instead, like to fix my exhaust pipes, redo my tillers, clean my filthy diesel tank, finish the inside ... and all this before the summer.
Luckily the reefer works as expected, yes, ice cubes from the sun !!

Yannis,
If I have to jump thru hoops... it's just not worth it.
For what it is worth I tried to look, saw a couple teaser pics then when I tried to get a closer look I was told I needed to join or give more info... Thanks but no thanks is my response as I exited the site.

Thank you Carl; its not so much about the "what " I can't see in the site, its the principle.
ps: I had to look up in wiki the name for the biggest lake in Florida, so as to satisfy their "human proof" !

Yannis, I choose awhile ago that I just don't care enough to spend that much time to join, be a guest, pass by, peruse thru... whatever.
Not sure about "The Principle". My take is they want to validate you are indeed a person and not a computer looking for a way to get in. Can't blame any site for that...who wants to be spammed, bombarded with selling links or whatever they do. Maybe requesting a Florida Specific question could limit non-Floridians access...but with Open Book questions, it would only turn away lazy people or those that really didn't care enough to go look up the answers.
My principle is " I can't be bothered"...at least not to look at a few pictures in a Florida specific site. I just can't be bothered filling out the join form, come up with another snappy password to try and remember, don't want more E cards for my birthday...I really just can't be bothered.

Re: MOONTIDE
There's a different owner now, with no connection with the person who posted that boat on the B31 site.
Should be deleted from the website listings.

Thanks, Jamie

Re: MOONTIDE
Faithful,
I don't know if anyone looked that close but check out the hull number on the panel board. Hull 2086 or 2089 it does not look like any hull number I've ever seen. Can someone zoom in on that picture and see what the number is. It looks like they took a 20' number and put it on the panel board, maybe I am loosing it, but just some thing that caught my eye. Somebody did a lot of work on that boat. It looks like an older model open back sportfish, maybe from the 60's.

Classic Bertram 31’ flybridge “Moontide”
1962/2009
If you’ve ever dreamed of finding an old 31 Bertram and totally restoring her back to her glory days this is the boat for you and all the work is done for you.
“Moontide” is one of the nicest totally restored 31’s you will ever lay eyes on. She is a 1962 hull (hull 204) that was COMPLETELY gutted and lovingly restored at the historic Huckins Yacht Corp. in Jacksonville, Fl (http://www.huckinsyacht.com) in 2009. This boat turns heads everywhere she goes. She is a Cloud white top over a Sky blue hull.
“Moontide” features the following upgrades-
-2-Yanmar 6LPA STP2 315 hp diesels w/ 495 hours
-Kohler 6EOD 6kw Generator w/341 hrs.
-Marine Air AC/Heat

Re: MOONTIDE
Faithful,
Your eyes are a lot better than mine, I agree with the hull number 204 and the 1962 year as my boat is hull 186, you can also tell by the old style step up engine boxes. Still a nice looking machine. I'll have to stop by the marina and take a look the next time I go to West Palm.
